After coming away with a 7-1 victory at Roadrunner Field against Texas-Pan America, the 'Runners looked to continue their winning ways over at Wolff Stadium in the UTSA Classic. The Roadrunners played three games in three days against non-conference opponents Omaha, Penn State and Stephen F. Austin.

The 'Runners faced Omaha in their first game of the Classic, where their pitching dominated the Mavericks. Starting pitcher Michael Kraft led the way with 5 scoreless innings, while relievers Jordan Pacheco, and Logan Onda combined to complete the shutout. Offensively, the 'Runners scored in the third inning with back-to-back singles by Riley Good and Daniel Rockett, followed by an in-the-park homerun by John Perucki to put UTSA up 3-0. Rockett capped off the 'Runners night by launching a 2 run blast over the left field wall to give UTSA a 5-0 victory.

In game two against Penn State, UTSA starting pitcher Brock Hartson was in control. After surrendering an unearned run in the third, Hartson shut down Penn State's offense, keeping them to a one run lead in the bottom of the fourth. Roadrunner Horacio Correa III reached base on an error. Rockett increased the lead to 3-1 with an RBI single. Hartson's outing would end with 7.0 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs (1 earned) and 7 strikeouts. Reliever Matt Sims came in and closed the door on Penn State, retiring the final 5 batters he faced, picking up the save and giving UTSA the 3-2 win.

Game three against Stephen F. Austin (SFA) was all offense for the 'Runners. SFA scored first off of a two-run homer, but their lead wouldn't last long. UTSA loaded the bases in the first inning for catcher John Bormann, who then cleared them with a 2-out double,  giving the 'Runners a 3-2 lead. Tony Ramirez also picked up his first hit and RBI of the night to increase the lead to 4-2. Rockett was ejected in the bottom of the second after a batter's interference call, but that didn't slow down the Runners offensive onslaught. UTSA pummeled the Lumberjacks for 9 more runs and went on to win 13-3. Ramirez (5-5 with 3 RBIs), Riley Good (3-6 with 3 RBIs) and John Bormann (1-4 with 3 RBIs) combined to drive in 9 of the Runners' 13 points.

UTSA (9-3) now looks to continue their success on the road against I-35 rival Texas State (4-7) on Tuesday, March 5. First pitch in San Marcos is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
